Typical Application For the LSI-55
A closer look at the circuit below will reveal some of the unique features of the LSI-55 Load Status Indicator. With a supply voltage of 10 to 300 Volts AC or DC and the circuit breaker engaged (not tripped), the Load Status Indicator, LSI-55 will illuminate Green, indicating that power is available to operate the load. In this example the load is a simple lamp, but a motor or heater or any type of electrical load that draw less than 30 Amps can be used.
With the Load Status Indicator, LSI-55 illuminating Green, power is available to operate the load and the switch can be placed in the on position to turn the lamp on. If all is OK with the lamp and the wiring to the lamp, the Load Status Indicator, LSI-55 will illuminate Red, indicating the load is active and that the lamp is drawing current (greater than 1.0 Amps). If the LSI remains in the Green state then one of two possibilities exist. The wire to the lamp is defective or the more probable cause, the lamp is "burned out".
The Load Status Indicator, Model LSI-55 is the most basic and easiest of all the LSI’s to use. With only 3 terminals (see typical application below), 2 that are .250 quick fit male tabs for supply and load and 1 that is .110 quick fit male tab for connecting to the common (negative for DC supply or neutral for AC supply) using the LSI-55 is fairly straight forward.
